Word Alive

Word AliveWord Alive was a Spring Harvest week which ran for 14 years in conjunction with Keswick Ministries and UCCF. It offered a slightly different focus to other Spring Harvest weeks, with an emphasis on Bible exposition and a special programme for students.

The last Word Alive event took place in Skegness from 31 March - 5 April 2007.

The following statement was issued by UCCF, Keswick Ministries and Spring Harvest regarding the end of Spring Harvest Word Alive:

"Easter 2007 will be the final year of Spring Harvest Word Alive in its present form.

Word Alive was originally conceived as a partnership event within Spring Harvest with several distinctive features, including a main student track which has, each year, attracted many hundreds of participants. For 14 years the week has been run by Spring Harvest, the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship and Keswick Ministries, and we thank God for a fruitful partnership.

Spring Harvest has indicated to its partners that it is no longer possible to retain Word Alive as a dedicated week within the Spring Harvest programme, and so Easter 07 represents the final event within the present structure.

The remaining two partners, UCCF and Keswick Ministries, are committed to continuing and developing a distinctive ‘Word Alive’ event, and are delighted to announce that the new ‘Word Alive’ will happen at Easter 2008 and beyond. This will sustain a programme for students as well as all the usual family and adult activities for which the event has become known.

Whilst the new ‘Word Alive’ will no longer be part of the Spring Harvest weeks, all three partners wish each other well in the ongoing provision of Easter conferences that seek to serve the church in this country."
